Safe Electric, the statutory regulatory scheme for electrical contractors is operated by the Register of Electrical Contractors of Ireland (RECI) on behalf of the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER).
Launch Date – 2017
Client – Safe Electric
Deliverables – Design & Theme Development
The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) recently decided to bring two disparate websites together under the single brand of Safe Electric, namely the Safe Electric site and the Register of Electrical Contractors of Ireland (RECI) site. iSeek was contracted due to their expertise with WordPress (the chosen CMS for the project) and with associated theme development in particular.
- Devise a cohesive design and navigation system to suit two linked, but separate websites and website owners
- Coordinate with an outside development company to bring the project to a successful conclusion
Reaching the decision to use WordPress Multisite functionality allowed us to share theme and plugin resources across two distinct websites which need to be linked together. We were able to use a common branding across the two sites but yet allow each to maintain a distinctness. Since each website is maintained by different owners, multisite also lent itself to allowing each to focus on their content without distraction. The result was a clean, modern website rich in information and features.
